why we do what we do

Giving Back

The team at Screen Engine/ASI, serving as responsible citizens, feels strongly about giving back to both our entertainment community and the larger community, both of which have given us so much. Our staff is dedicated to contributing our time and resources to a number of worthy organizations on a regular basis, as well as facilitating continuing education in our field of expertise.

Kevin Goetz, Bob Levin, Darlene Hayman and other senior members of the Screen Engine/ASI team have taught classes for students at the following institutions:
-USC – Peter Stark Program
-Inner City Filmmakers
-Chapman University
-Columbia College
-Boston University
-UNCSA School of Filmmaking
-Ringling College of Art and Design
-University of Houston

Here’s what former students had to say about Screen Engine/ASI’s sessions:

"I have developed a new interest in Marketing due to your magnificent lesson. As a young filmmaker, with profound knowledge such as yours, I can develop strategies to market and advertise my own short films."

"You have helped me understand that movies are much more about an entire filmmaking process than just about having a great idea. Strategic marketing and planning is KEY in this business. You taught me so much and have definitely inspired me to strive for success."

"You changed my whole perspective about movies and how screenings and marketing are very important in the film industry."

"I was thoroughly impressed to learn about the level of commitment, expertise, creativity and support that Screen Engine/ASI provides for independent filmmakers."

"You have no idea how much you have helped me and how much time you have saved me. Knowing that there is a team that can provide real, relevant market information regardig the climate of the movie business is the best way to formulate a campaign strategy. Your presentation helped me finally understand the importance of research and marketing and made it a breeze. Thank you very much."

"The Screen Engine/ASI lecture is clear, concise, and catchy. Kevin Goetz and his team provide a set of key terms and concepts, a resonant base for understanding the worlds of film and television marketing -- an added dimension for talking intelligently about the business."
